Hallo Musikfreunde,

hier nun also die gewohnte Übersicht der aktuellen Themen, Tourdaten,

Während sich so langsam das Jahr dem wohlverdienten Ende nähert, möchte
ich mich bei Euch für die Zusammenarbeit bedanken und hoffe, dass es

Pressemitteilung TOM WAITS
After receiving standing ovations in venues across Europe the theatrical
play Woyzeck is back home. About a year after it premiered at the Betty
Nansen Theatre in Copenhagen the succesful play will again be staged
here from 13th December 2001 through the 16th February 2002. Please find

Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan wrote the music for the play and are now
putting it on a cd. This cd will be in stores on the 6th May 2002 and
will be called Red Drum. On the same day Waits and Brennan will release
another cd called Alice, containing the music they wrote for the
theatrical play Alice some time ago. It's the first time these songs can
be heard outside a theatre and are performed by the composer himself.

Das neue Album schlägt hohe Wellen und löst allerorten große
Begeisterung aus. Derart motiviert, darf man dann erwarten, dass die

Sachen gibts....da legen die Distillers ein superbes Streetpunk Album
hin, das eigentlich nur Hits am Start hat und die geneigte Presse
reagiert gelassen bis zurückhaltend....HALLO, AUFWACHEN, das hier ist
großartig und passiert nicht jeden Tag ! Und NOCHMAL: wer Platten von
Rancid, Voice of a Generation, Dropkick Murphysetc. im Schrank hat oder
die härteren Stücke von Hole gut findet, sollte das seinen Lesern oder
Hörern nicht vorenthalten. Sachen gibts.....

Die Dänen Nekromantix sind im Psychobilly schon lange keine Unbekannten
mehr. Nach 5 in der Szene sehr erfolgreichen Alben, lassen sie jetzt ihr
Debut für Hellcat auf die Menschheit los. Wieder einmal war es Tim
Armstrong, (Labelchef und Rancid Mastermind), der der Band höchstselbst
den Deal anbot. Noch brachialer als die Tiger Army mixen die
Nekromantix, Rock‘n‘Roll - Rockabilly - Metal , Rock und Punkelemente zu
einem höchst druckvollen Soundgemisch.

Piebald have the potential to be the "next big thing" all the keys to a
successful band are at their disposal. WFNX, Boston's Commercial
Alternative Radio Station describes Piebald as "what Weezer SHOULD have

Mit legt das französiche Label Le Maquis ein
Compilation vor, die in Zusammenhang mit Jean-Marie K, einem Pionier der
französischen Elektronik Szene entstanden ist....It brings together a
wide range of artist from the electronic French scene, such as :
Guillaume La Tortue, Cedric Azenkoth from the famous duo Dax Rider, Jean
Jerome (famous, animator of Radio FG) and also a collaborations of DJ
Numkat (Trip Hop, Jazzy Vibes compilation) and Wide Open Spaces (Lounge
Story), as well as other Surprises….This musical program is composed
only of exclusive titles, some have been realized just for this
project......

Wir hatten die Band ja schon einmal vorgestellt und die bisherigen
Reaktion bestätigen, dass das holländische Quartett hier wirklich eine
klasse Scheibe in der musikalischen Schnittmenge: Stoner - 70‘s-Glam -
Sleaze abgeliefert hat. Freunde von Bands wie : Soundgarden, Kyuss, Fu
Manchu etc. sollten hier mal ein Ohr riskieren.

Mattias Eklundh, ist einigen sicherlich noch bekannt als Gitarrist der
dänischen Band FATE, bzw dem Nachfolgeprojekt FREAK KITCHEN. Mit legt er ein Solo Album vor, das fachkundige Ohren als eine
Mischung aus Satriani und Vai beschrieben haben. Mit anderen Worten:
vielseitige, äußerst anspruchsvolle Gitarrenmusik auf höchstem
technischen Niveau.

Zwei äußerst großartige Independent Alben, die ich allen Freunden von
Bands wie Walkabouts, Radiohead oder REM empfehlen kann. Beide Bands
gewannen in ihrer norwegischen Heimat den Spellemannsprise (was dort
gleichbedeutend mit dem Grammy ist). Die POOR RICH ONES werden
voraussichtlich im Januar für einige Akustik shows nach Deutschland
kommen. Der NME schrieb über ein livekonzert der Band folgendes: "Poor
Rich Ones exist on that wet/hard interface, where tough guitars indulge
in a bundle with falsetto vocals, jazzy drum rolls jive with strident
basslines and songs which start like a comatose Radiohead always seem to
bloom into bleeding marvellous corkscrewing life by the second chorus.
There are gentle shimmies in the verses, there are epic shakes in the
choruses, there is seething poignancy in the likes of 'Book Of Friends'.
In short, there is a degree of twisted classicism in Poor Rich Ones'
radiant output that could make a mongoose smile". Simon Williams, NME

Logan, der bereits zwei Alben auf Trocadero veröffentlichte und mit
seinem 2 CDs umfassenden Debut (nicht auf Trocadero) bereits ein
Stück Musikgeschichte geschrieben hat, beweist ein weiteres Mal, dass er
nicht zu kategorisieren ist. Wie schon auf dem besagten Debut ist die
musikalische Palette äußerst vielfältig. Zusammengehalten werden die
Songs von den Geschichten die Jack erzählt. Natürlich ist
kein Konzeptalbum, sondern ein unterhaltsamer Trip durch das Leben des
ehemaligen Schwimmbad Pumpen Reparateurs. So zeitgemäß und
abwechslungsreich wie die Tagesschau.....
