Blowback is scheduled for a 2nd July release in the UK and continental
Europe on Anti Inc, a division of Epitaph records. In the US and the
rest of the world the album will be out on Hollywood Records on July
17th. The album features performances by the Red Hot Chili Peppers,
Alanis Morissette, Cyndi Lauper and Ed Kowalzcyk from Live, who
performs the lead vocal on the single, "Evolution, Revolution, Love".
Mit Blowback hat Tricky ein fantastisches neues Album vorgelegt, dass
für Überraschungen sorgen wird. Grenzüberschreitend legt er sich auf
keinen Musikstil fest und zeigt eine bisher komplett ungewohnte
musikalische Bandbreite.

Recently I've been helping a friend of mine learn guitar and he's been
bringing in a lot of Ramones songs for me to teach him. It was great to
be reminded of how much I love their music and what they meant to me
growing up. There are only a few bands I can listen to over and over and
never get sick of, and the Ramones are definitely one of them. They are
the architects who built the house. The rest of us are just going off
their blueprints. When I heard that Joey died, and I realized that I
would never see them play live again, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I
had the chance to go up and say hello to him once, but I lost my nerve.
Usually I could care less about celebrities, but he was just too much of
a legend in my eyes. I didn't feel worthy. Now, I wish I had.

Joe Strummer - Ex-Clash kommt bald mit einem neuen Album. Leider liegt
uns derzeit noch nichts vor. Aber ihr wißt ja, das kann nur gut sein.!!!
Joe Strummer about (the death of)Joey Ramone:
"Today we have to deal with the fact that JOEY RAMONE is dead. He made
the prime time 6 o'clock newscast in Britain, triggering a strange sense
of pride in all the rock n' rollers watching. As if the above ground
world was finally going to accord Joey the status he always deserved.
Well he's gonna
live forever, anyway we'll make sure of that. Off stage - just hanging
out, he was the funniest kind of wise-cracking guy, very sharp, with a
strictly dry sense of humor. It was all kind of hidden behind his
shyness but then it would suddenly pop out. Still the news doesn't seem
real. How can this be true? Its time here in my kitchen to play the
entire canon as loud as possible, start with the first track and play to
the last track. This is a sad night in the life. This music not only
stands the test of time - it totally obliterates everything before it
and after it.!!! Long live the Ramones.

Gewohnt hitmäßig gehen die Bouncing Souls auf ihrem aktuellen Werk vor.
Und doch ist das Album in soundtechnischer Hinsicht und in Sachen
Songwriting eine Überraschung - so flexibel hat man die Band bis dato
nämlich noch nicht erlebt. Die Bouncing Souls sind ebenfalls auf der
Deconstruction Tour mit dabei.

It was upstairs at Bryans parents house where I first sang along to a
Ramones song. We learned cover songs and played them over and over
until they became a part of us. "Chasing the Night" was one of those
songs. At first I just sang the chorus because I didn't know the verses
but singing it made me want to write a song that simple and that cool.
13 years later I'm still trying. Thanks Joey…
