Tricky Returns With Innovative New Album
Vulnerable On May 19th, 2003

Amsterdam - April 23, 2003
In what is being hailed as the best album of his career, British-born musical chameleon Tricky is set to release his seventh album Vulnerable on May 19th, 2003. Recorded in Los Angeles, Tricky has returned with an inspirational thirteen song collection that reverberates with emotional intensity and echoes artistic rebirth. Vulnerable is being released in Europe (incl U.K) on Anti/Epitaph that also put out Tricky's previous cd Blowback. In the rest of the world Vulnerable will be released on 17th June, 2003 through Tricky's Brown Punk Records imprint via his new exclusive worldwide (ex-UK and Europe) deal with Sanctuary Records.
"I called this album Vulnerable because it's my most honest and open record," said Tricky. "On this album I've stopped hiding and I'm allowing people to see different sides of the real me. Vulnerable is me breaking free and being myself again."

With new vocal muse, Italian chanteuse Costanza Francavilla, the songs on Vulnerable are textured soundscapes of jaunting beats, stirring guitars and gorgeous voices that resonate with Tricky's unique fusion of the rock, electronica, and hip hop genres. The result is an extraordinary album that finds Tricky at his very best. From the wildly inventive dub-sonic sound of "Stay" to the haunting grooves of "Hollow," and off-kilter beats of the album's first single, "Antimatter," Tricky has again created an album that defies easy categorization.

Said Tricky, "I might not be the most talented, but I am the only artist around now with their own sound."

An unparalleled visionary, Tricky's influence can be seen and felt everywhere in music today. As the founding father of trip hop, Tricky has destroyed artistic barriers due to his unequivocal combination of artistry and style. Through his acclaimed solo albums and collaborations he has altered the sounds of pop, electronic and hip-hop music as we know today and is a celebrated figure amongst his artistic peers and fans alike. On Vulnerable, he once again constructs an exhilarating musical world unlike any other through his voice and adventurous manipulation of sound.

A true renaissance man, Tricky shot the photography and co-designed the packaging for Vulnerable, which in turn has led to the first museum exhibition of his digital photography at Palais de Tokyo in Paris. The month long exhibition premiers April 29th at a special reception and will also feature the first viewing of the Antimatter video that was directed by Stephane Sednaoui. This is the fourth collaboration between Sednaoui and Tricky.

In addition, the Vulnerable album is an enhanced CD / DVD which includes an interview, three guerilla style cinema films, conceived and co-directed by Tricky.

Tricky embarks on a six week European tour, The 13 Tour, on June 13th in Vicenza, Italy. He will then be returning to the US to produce Costanza's first solo album for his Brown Punk Records label. His North American tour is scheduled to begin in the early Fall.
